The True Light

From creation as recorded in Genesis, the first thing God created was light. Many at times we have confused that light as just day and night. John gave us a better understanding of that light. John 1:1-5. He made us understand that light Is a person. That light is the person of Jesus. So, from the beginning, the plan of God was for man to exist or rather be found in the person of Jesus who is the light. John referred to Christ as the True Light.
John 8:12 “Jesus spoke again to the people, he said “I am the light of the world”
1John 1:5 ’This is the message we have heard and declare unto you; God is light and in him is no darkness at all”
John 12:36 ‘Believe in the light while you have the light, that you may become the children of light”
As a believer, the transition that took place at the new birth was from darkness to light (Col 1:13) and that transition took place in the spirit and we became children of light
But not only did that light shine into our spirit, but it also shined into our hearts.
2Cor 4:6 says the light has also shined into our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. This means that whatever revelation or insight or rhema as we fondly say, that is not centered on Christ is darkness
Whatever it is, you want to know about life itself or the life of a believer, traits, character, Kingdom beliefs, prayer, etc., if you look outside Christ, all you will find is darkness, no matter how well packaged or sophisticated or well written it is.
So as believers and children of light, we must see all that’s in the scriptures through the eyes of Christ because it all testifies of him (John5:39). This is how we walk in the light and have a fellowship with him
Someone once gave an illustration that stuck with me, she said when you go to the boutique, most especially the ones lighted with the blue bob within, the color or real image of the fabric is not known until you use a brighter and clearer light. Many people have bought things only to discover it’s not what they thought it to be. This is what happens when Christ is not the center of the horoscope by which we see. Once we don’t see or examine things through the eyes of Christ, an error is inevitable.
Jesus Christ is the True Light and the revelation of the Father Heb 1:1-3.
